Although I do love Edward and Bella (kind of)...
I love Simmone and Damo more :)
Damo is not like Edward. He doesn't control what I do, who I talk to or where I go.
Damo doesn't accuse me of cheating and is never jealous of my outside relationships. He doesn't look at me like I am something to eat and doesn't threaten to kill me (especially not on our first date) ;)
Damien is the most amazing person. I am so lucky to have him as a boyfriend. We have been together for two years and and three months and I have never been so happy. I know it sounds corny but he is my best friend. We are totally on the same wavelength and we just 'get' each other :)
So finally went and saw The Last Song and strangely enough, I enjoyed it. For some reason I thought that it would be a cute and fluffy romance but I was totally wrong. Who was I to make such a quick judgment when I haven't even read the book yet. I must admit the acting was umm kind of embarrassing but I think it was the storyline I enjoyed.
Just like Taylor Swift copped bad reviews for her appearance in Valentine's Day, Miley Cyrus has also been receiving bad reviews with critics saying she should 'stick to her music'. Lou Lumenick from the New York Post said, "Cyrus pouts her way through a fire, a wedding and a funeral." Even though this was Miley's first major acting role and I think she did an okay job, I do agree her facial expressions were rather, lets say annoying.
The Last Song is about how Ronnie (Miley Cyrus) spends the summer with her estranged father where they eventually reconnect with each other through music. Ronnie also falls for local boy Will (Liam Hemsworth) who I must add, is a total hottie! They are so cute together and its even more cute that they are together in real life. Jonah (Ronnies little brother) was absolutely hilarious and said the funniest one liners. He was definitely my favourite character.
The movie was romantic, funny and somewhat sad and other than Miley's sour pout I must say The Last Song was totally sweet.
Whenever I am sad I listen to Owl City. I don't exactly know why but for some reason all of their songs make me so happy. I can be having the worst of days and as soon as an Owl City song plays on my iPod in my car I am overwhelmed with excitement.Hello Seattle and The Saltwater room are probably my most favourite of their songs (I did really like Fireflies until it was played 1000 times a day on the radio). All of the lyrics to all Owl City songs are so random and weird, but I think that is why I love them. Because in this weird jumbled way, they all make sense to me. I swear, Adam Young is a genius. These are my favourite lyrics from some of my favourite Owl City songs. The Bird and The WormYou and I left our troubles far behind, troubles far behindBut I still have just one more question on my mindFor all my pals who live in the oceans and the seasWith friends like these well, who needs enemiesIf My Heart Was A HouseIt makes me smile because you said it bestI would clearly feel blessed if the sun rose up from the westFlower balm perfume, all my clothes smell like youCause your favorite shade is navy blueI walk slowly when I'm on my ownYeah, but frankly I still feel alone So I may as well ditch my dismayBombs away, bombs awayCaptains and Cruise ShipsOld captains and brand new cruise shipsSailing over the brimy seaWhen I crash my beloved desk jobAnd swim through the debrisI'll cut loose leave this mad house all for the atlantic blueI'll stroll down your treelined driveway, and sail the ocean with you The Saltwater RoomAll the subways around create a great soundTo my motion fatigue, farewell with your ear to a seashellYou can hear the waves in underwater cavesAs if you actually were inside a saltwater roomTime together isn't ever quite enoughWhen you and I are alone, I've never felt so at homeWhat will it take to make or break this hint of love?Only time, only timeThe Tip Of The IcebergI'll travel the sub-zero tundraI'll break glaciers and frozen lakesAnd that's just the tip of the icebergI'll do whatever it takes to changeFarewell powdery paradiseWe'd rather skate on the thinnest iceFingers failed us before they frozeFrostbite bit down on all our Hello SeattleHello Seattle, I am the crescent moonShining down on your faceI will disguise myself as a sleeping pillAnd descend inside of youHello Seattle, I am a cold seahorseFeeling warm in your sandI sing about the tide and the ocean surfRolling in the evening breeze
Thank you Adam Young, for making me smile every single day. What is your favourite Owl City song? And if you don't know of Owl City, please buy their Ocean Eyes CD. You won't regret it.
I have a new addiction. Skins. It is quite definitely one of my favourite television shows ever. Skins is a British TV drama that follows the lives of a group of teenagers through the two years of sixth form. Every two series the entire cast is replaced as the characters leave sixth form. I am quite disappointed about this as there are some characters in the first two series that I absolutely love. I have just finished the first two seasons and they were amazing. I brought season three of Ebay last week and am hoping it will arrive tomorrow. Although I will have to say goodbye to my favourite characters Chris and Cassie I am excited to see the introduction of the new characters. The following is a list of the Skins cast from the first two seasons.Tony Stonem: Tony is one of the main characters. He is attractive, extremely popular and somewhat troublesome. He is often at the centre of the drama within the T.V show but often his manipulative and cunning ways go unnoticed. At the end of season one something major happens to Tony that shapes his character entirely in the second season.Sid Jenkins: Sid is Tony's best friend and in season two also is in love with Tony's girlfriend. Sid is the dorky sidekick who is often hidden in the shadows of Tony's limelight. He is not very good at schoolwork and struggles to maintain relationships but he is adorable. I love Sid.Michelle Richardson: Michelle is Tony's girlfriend and she is also attractive and popular. I like Michelle but it annoys me that she takes Tony back after he cheats on her. Cassie Ainsworth: Cassie is by far my favourite character. She is simply amazing and her character is so interesting and unpredictable. She is 'spacey' and sometimes a little crazy. She is continually saying and doing random things and I love all of the outfits she wears. Cassie acts happy and positive to mask her emotional and mental struggles with her eating disorder. Her trademark saying "wow!"Jal Fazer: Most of the story lines surrounding Jal are to do with her passion and talents for playing the clarinet. She is an extremely talented musician and so is her father and brother. I like Jal's character, she is mature and responsible. In the second season she is faced with the death of her boyfriend and the possibility of being a mother. Chris Miles: Chris is hilarious hence the reason he is one of my favourite characters. He is so funny and is the party animal of the group. He is forced to live on his own after both of his parents have left him and his brother passes away. He collects medicinal boxes and likes goldfish. He also has a major crush on his Psychology teacher Angie.Maxxie Oliver: Maxxie openly embraces his sexuality and isn't afraid to admit that he is gay. He loves to dance and is a really good artist. He is a well liked character and is Anwar's best friend.Anwar Kharral: Anwar prays five times a day although he is not very devoted to his religion as he regularly takes drugs and takes part in pre-marital sex. Maxxie is Anwar's best friend and often homosexuality is an issue for Anwar and his family to accept.
I love Skins. Although the storylines and plot may seem controversial Skins explores many issues such as substance abuse, dysfunctional families, eating disorders, disabilities, pregnancy, religion, sexuality and death.Skins is fantastic and if you haven't seen it yet, please do!
